Thailand

Phuket

semi-overcast

Arrived a bit apprehensive about our accommodation - booked it via the internet for an insanely cheap price, so we were half expecting issues.
R-Mar resort and spa is awesome! For once a hotel looks like it does on the website and was a nice surprise to find breakfast included. We're basically staying there for less than we would have spent on breakfast at home anyway.

Patong is a weird mix of seedy bars and street hawkers and nice resorts and hotels. The hawkers aren't as bad as I expected. Yudish is having fun bartering and being a smart arse to all the guys trying to sell him suits. Pretty handy that heaps of the business people here are indian so he can negotiate with them in hindi and gets away with some good deals.

Had the best dinner last night - best yellow curry I've ever had and Yudish got the guy to make him some authentic thai dish not on the menu. 3 courses and drinks for less than AUD$20. Mmm...we're going to get fat here.

Singapore

all seasons in one day 27 °C
View South East Asia on lisayudish's travel map.

Spent a few days in Singapore catching up with Preena (Yudish's cousin).

Singapore zoo was amazing - there are no cages, animals are just separated by streams and ditches etc. so monkeys can wander freely through the trees. Very cool. Also did the night safari - interesting to see all the animals stalking around at night. (pics to come)

Went and had a fish foot spa. You put your feet in fish tanks and they eat all the dry skin off you. Gross for them, but like a nice massage for us!

We went out for a few drinks but you wouldn't want to have a big night out there - drinks are expensive!

Off to Thailand next....
